Right jobs, right people, equals success!

Knights are proud to be the first law firm in the United Kingdom to be awarded the Investors In People (IiP) Recruitment and Selection Model Award. This Award, which follows an independent assessment of an organisation's recruitment and selection procedures, has, so far, been awarded to only five organisations in the Country.

The IiP Standard helps organisations to achieve success through the people they already have. Knights now employs over 160 staff and IiP is part of the firm's culture, which is based on developing each individual for the benefit of that individual and for the benefit of the firm.

The Recruitment and Selection Model helps organisations to recruit the correct number of people with the right skills and abilities needed to deliver future plans.

Jane Selman, Knights HR and Training Manager explains, "As a firm we have continuously met the IiP Standards since 1998 and the Recruitment and Selection model is evidence of the importance we place on the selection and retention of staff."

The Model is based on four basic principles:

  • COMMITMENT - taking a strategic approach to recruitment and selection
  • PLANNING - a clear understanding about the people needed
  • ACTION - effective and efficient selection and recruitment
  • EVALUATION - measuring the impact people have on performance
