tax, trust & private client

leaving a lasting impression
I wasn't sure what to expect when I went in to TTPC. I initially thought it might be quite depressing thinking about death all day, but in fact it's one of the most satisfying seats to have because you're able to see a matter through from the initial meeting to completion quite quickly, which doesn't happen in many other areas of the law.

A lot of my time is spent helping clients to draw up their wills. When a client is booked in to draft their will, you can never predict their wishes. It's been a real eye-opener to me how people can hold grudges against family members for years, or conversely how others want to acknowledge small acts of kindness by leaving a bequest to someone they barely know.

I've also been involved in administering estates, helping to give inheritance tax planning and capital gains tax advice, implementing trusts and setting up Lasting Powers of Attorney - so it really is varied. If you've got an eye for detail, enjoy a balance of client contact, drafting and hearing the most personal secrets from your clients, then you'll love TTPC.
