I have worked in a legal environment since 1979 joining Knights in 1987, initially as a residential conveyancer (for three years), and then transferring to the Real Estate Department as part of a team specialising in secured lending and leasing for the licensed trade.
I studied through the Institute of Legal Executives and completed the Part 1 Membership Examinations and the Landlord and Tenant Part II module.
I left the firm in 1997 to look after my children full time. I completed a teaching assistant qualification and spent many hours working voluntarily in a school, returning periodically to Knights to assist with project work. I returned to Knights on a permanent basis in 2003 and am now part of the Real Estate Department Paralegal Unit specialising in title investigation, voluntary registration of large estates, preparation and submission of Stamp Duty Land Tax returns, post completion formalities (including registration and dealing with mortgagee requirements) and being of general support to the Real Estate Department.
My interests outside the office include spending time with friends and family (my sons’ football and other social activities feature heavily!) and walking. I also go to an upholstery and soft furnishing class but I won’t give up my daytime job just yet.
