I re-trained in law following a career in banking. I converted from the bar to become a solicitor in 2008 and became a consultant at Knights shortly thereafter.
When I returned to full-time education, I chose to focus my interests in immigration law, as I am a keen traveller and enjoy learning about other countries, cultures and current affairs. As part of this interest, I also studied immigration law and human rights law while at university and bar school.
Since then, I have practised in private practice and in central and local government roles. I have many years experience as an advocate at the asylum and immigration tribunal and have taught immigration law and advocacy at under-graduate level as well as to solicitors at the academic stage of their training and to current practitioners.
Outside work, I enjoy travelling amongst other things. My favourite country is Italy mainly due to the food, wine and opera!
