I have worked as a lawyer in a variety of legal offices (including in Manchester and the City of London) since 1983, with my formal qualification as a solicitor coming in 1993.
For the greater part of that time, I have practised in the field of commercial property, although at different times I have also worked as an in-house solicitor for a large multinational, in private practice as a commercial contracts lawyer and in a high street practice doing divorce and crime!
In fact, variety is something of a theme for me as, even within the domain of commercial property, I have gained wide experience in development, quarrying, funding, leases and mainstream transactional work as well as the specialisms in energy, environmental and construction law that I maintain at Knights.
My wife is a law lecturer at Staffordshire University (so we have plenty to talk about!) and we also have two young children to occupy us.
