Somewhat shell-shocked after the quiet life of an all-girls convent school, I arrived at Sheffield University to study for a Law degree. I graduated from Sheffield with a 2:1 in the year 2000. What a start to the new Millennium! I then returned home to complete the Legal Practice Course at Staffordshire University.
I started my career at Knights in September 2001 as a trainee solicitor, qualifying as a solicitor in 2003.
I knew from very early on in my training contract that my heart belonged in the tax trust & private client department and I have practised in this area of law since my qualification.
My expertise lies in advising private clients on inheritance tax, trusts (including co-ownership agreements), elderly client issues, wills and the administration of estates.
I also specialise in charity law, establishing new charities and advising existing charities on constitutional matters and fundraising agreements.
Happily, I have been able to combine both these areas by being on the panel of solicitors recommended for providing wills by the national charity, The Institute of Cancer Research and locally, The Donna Louise Trust. I also advise many local charities on a pro-bono basis.
