After obtaining a degree in law and mathematics at Keele University, I attended the Legal Practice Course at The College of Law in Chester. I then joined Knights as a trainee solicitor and qualified as a solicitor in September 2003.
Since qualification, I have specialised in corporate and commercial work. As part of the commercial team, I deal primarily with preparing and negotiating commercial contracts, in particular terms and conditions, leisure and entertainment contracts and intellectual property licence agreements. I also advise clients on issues relating to trade marks, copyright, designs and confidentiality agreements. In the corporate team, I act for clients who are buying and selling companies and businesses.
Away from the office, I enjoy walking and gardening and spending time with my horses and cats – I ride my horses in the local woods at weekends. More strenuous activities include walking in the Lake District and jogging. I have completed the Great North Run a couple of times and have taken part in other shorter runs.
