After leaving Newcastle High School in 1972, I began work as a solicitor’s clerk with a Hanley firm and I qualified by examination as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in August 1984.
I began as a general practitioner specialising in debt collection and as the volume of debt collection work increased, I took on less general work. I worked for my first employer for 15 years and, having sampled commuting to a West Midlands firm for a time, secured a position in the Debt Recovery Unit at Knights in November 1997. I now use my 35 years' experience to deal exclusively with all aspects of debt recovery, including insolvency.
I am the firm’s representative on the County Court Users’ Committee and an active member of Biddulph Male Voice Choir.
