Lowering capital taxes - legitimately - is an important part of safeguarding wealth. Knights is adept in the use of trusts to give you maximum protection but we offer a wider range of strategies too, including limited liability partnerships and private company structures. We work with many different businesses and individuals across the UK, partnering closely with leading tax barristers in London when needed.

about the team

Our Strategic Tax Unit is known for its grasp of core issues and well versed in developing the kind of flexible strategies that will successfully cope with changes in legislation. This has been important in the past and is becoming ever more so as legislation changes rapidly, making cumbersome structures a potential liability.

Partners Kate Smith and Charles Jones head the team, which also includes Rob Fearnley and tax adviser Henry Davenport ACA who lectures on tax. Tax and trust administration is handled by Edna Rowland and Diane Beardmore. In total, four individuals are members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
